Custom-label questions, answered.

How ordered cases, clearing, Shopify's official Google channel, billing, and uninstall behaviour work.

FAQ

Before you automate a custom-label slot

The app is deliberately narrow: Shopify rules in, five product metafields out.

Does this replace the Google & YouTube app?

No. Keep Shopify's official Google & YouTube app installed and connected. Prosper Custom Labels manages the five custom-label product metafields; the official app remains responsible for Google account connection and feed submission.

Does the app connect to Google Ads or Merchant Center?

No. It uses Shopify product data and writes Shopify product metafields. It does not request Google credentials, inspect campaigns, change bids, or guarantee product approval.

Why use ordered cases instead of one X/Y rule?

Useful label strategies often have tiers. Ordered cases let clearance take priority over sale, then fall back to another outcome. The first match wins.

What happens when no rule matches?

An active automation clears that slot. This prevents stale values. Preview shows every planned clear before publishing.

Can I keep an existing definition and values?

Yes. Compatible definitions and current values are preserved. Publishing can replace values in an active slot, so the app requires a fresh preview and ownership warning first.

What happens if I pause or uninstall?

Future writes stop. Existing product definitions and label values remain in Shopify.

What product fields can rules use?

Dates, title, handle, vendor, type, status, tags, product ID, price, compare-at price, discount percentage, inventory, product metafields, and selected variant fields and metafields.

Are Google custom-label limits enforced?

Values must be one line and no more than 100 characters. Each slot can use at most 1,000 configured unique values.

How is billing handled?

Subscriptions and the seven-day trial are handled through Shopify App Pricing and appear on the Shopify invoice.
